Key stakeholders in Senegambia bridge project discuss enhancing connectivity on the vital trade corridor
A delegation from the African Development Bank (AfDB), Global Center on Adaptation (GCA), and Transgambia Bridge Company (TBC) have concluded a series of events and meetings in The Gambia in preparation for the official takeover of Senegambia Bridge operations by TBC.
The delegation assessed the progress and impact of the Senegambia Bridge a vital transport corridor enhancing connectivity and trade between The Gambia and Senegal.

Ministerial Meetings
The team had strategic discussions with key government officials focused on enhancing trade facilitation in the region. According to the Ministry of Transport, 150 km of urban and rural roads are expected to be constructed using the proceeds from the historic Senegambia Bridge Asset Recycling Project.
Climate Adaptation Workshop
As part of the visit, a multi-stakeholder workshop led by GCA was held to evaluate climate vulnerability, proposed adaptation strategies, and priority interventions to enhance regional climate resilience. The workshop was attended by representatives of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Africa50, Royal HaskoningDHV, National Roads Authority, Gambia Disaster Management Agency Meteorological Division, and Cityscape Associates Gambia Ltd.
